ACQUISITION LOGISTICS

We apply a systems approach to the activities necessary to develop supportability concepts within a design. Beginning with the development of the proposal, we strive to conduct logistics analysis to identify trade-offs to ensure the design will be supportable by the end user. We also perform additional analysis to identify resources that will be required to support the system. By performing these analyses during the design process, decisions can be made to provide the most economical use of resources.

Key Benefits:

  • Advance planning of various logistical aspects of the system allows preplanning     so that the process can smoothly stay on track.
  • Schedules are more readily met, for example, when long lead items are     identified. This allows for advance ordering.
  • Costs can be managed by early identification of replacement parts.

  • Capabilities

    Logistics Planning and Management
Providing planning, funding, and functioning controls which help to ensure that the system meets performance requirements, is developed at a reasonable price, and can be supported throughout its life cycle. We ensure that all elements of support are considered and integrated into the development process.

    LSA and Provisioning
The process of identifying support requirements for a new system, especially in the early stages of its life. These processes help to ensure that the system will perform as intended and to influence the design for optimum supportability and affordability.

    Maintenance Planning
The process of identifying and arranging all required elements of the maintenance/repair support capability necessary to ensure systems, subsystems, and equipment are capable of performing their operational missions until phase-out or retirement.

    Supply Support
The mainstay between the manufacturer and the user. All management actions, procedures, and techniques necessary to acquire, catalog, receive, store, transfer, issue, and dispose of secondary items. This includes provisioning for initial support, as well as acquiring, distributing, and replenishing inventory spares and parts, and planning for direct and competitive spares procurement.

    Electronic Technical Manuals
Today's technology allows shelves of manuals to be placed on a variety of media (CD ROM, floppy disk, an internet server), reducing the amount of storage space, and making the information more readily available to more individuals at the same time. Key word searching can cut down on the time needed to locate data needed in a manual. The text can be enhanced with videos, vocals, and music. The manual is more readily revised in this state, as well, at a fraction of the cost.

    Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR)
The LSAR report is an automated system used to document the results of Logistic Support Analysis. This data is used in many areas of logistics reports, including maintenance planning.
