Computer Technician (FT/PT)

Requires a good understanding of computer troubleshooting and some basic network connectivity skills. Good customer service skills and the ability to work with people in various office settings.

DUTIES:

  • PC hardware installation troubleshooting and repair.
  • PC software installation and troubleshooting experience, especially Microsoft operating systems and Office products.
  • Printer installation and maintenance.
  • Computer peripheral installation and troubleshooting.
  • Basic network and connectivity troubleshooting; should know how a router and a switch are used.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service attitude.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability and motivation to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users and customers.
  • Ability to work productively individually and in teams and be a good problem solver.
  • A+ certification is a plus.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience.



    System/Network Engineer (PT/FT)

    Design and modify network configurations to maximize efficiency and security, diagnose and resolve all problems affecting network operations, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, and advise customers on proper use of IT resources. Must posses a strong background in Windows and Unix/Linux, and be able to work quickly and effectively with little oversight.

    DUTIES:

  • Work independently to support Windows and Unix/Linux servers and desktop computers.
  • Respond to customer support requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routers, print services, e-mail, database and web and ftp services for internal and external clients.
  • Ensure secure operation of all servers and services through the use of security and encryption technologies.
  • Replace defective hardware on workstations and servers as necessary.
  • Perform maintenance on user accounts. Add, remove and modify accounts as necessary.
  • Maintain integrity of file/database servers and perform recovery when necessary.
  • Research, install and test software updates and patches to supported applications and various operating systems.
  • Research new technologies and present recommendations on hardware and software purchases.
  • Document and log all changes to system software and configurations.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience working with Windows workstations and servers, and at least one variant of Unix/Linux.
  • MCSE certification is a plus.
  • Ability and motivation to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users and customers.
  • Ability to work productively individually and in teams and be a good problem solver.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing and other networking concepts.
  • Operational experience with networking equipment and cabling. Cisco experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of standard backup infrastructures.
  • Proficient at Windows and Unix/Linux installation, compilation and configuration.
